When I reincarnate I want to be an expat's wife 15.11.08

My wife has left for Japan, to attend a ceremony for the memory of her dad, who passed away 49 days ago. Peace be upon him, rest in peace, after a long fight against cancer.

I am left alone with the kids. I took a week off as I will be busy driving them here and there, school, friends' homes, sport clubs. Some quality and fun time with them, and finally experiencing the expat's wife life. Bringing them to school, then coffee on a terrasse (yes it is still 28 degrees here), working there with my laptop, chatting with other kids' moms, some shopping, lunch outside, etc... that is an experience for me.

Markets are still very volatile and undirectional, or rather showing some direction, weakness on the downside. The Gulf region, that one could have thought out of trouble, is now experiencing the first signs of the global recession. People have lost money in the local stock markets (well, as well as a US or Swiss investor in his own domestic market), real estate prices start to go down (-10, 15, 25% in Dubai already, and more when people are forced to sell), projects are postponed (Nakheel 1km high tower anyone ?), etc... well, as long as oil stay above $50. I never thought I would ever say that...
